Banqueting is the service that handles the whole banquet: kitchen, drinks, waiters, table linen, tableware, mise en place and coordination of timings. The word is English, but the root is Italian: banchetto, from banco, a bench.
The difference from catering is one of scope. Catering can stop at preparing and delivering food and drink; banqueting brings them to the table with a team and someone running the show. Every banqueting service includes catering, not the other way round. Many companies do both and describe themselves as catering and banqueting.
What matters in the quote
What is included varies from company to company: staff by role and by hours, hire, set-up, drinks. Have it written item by item. To find out more, read what banqueting is and the difference between banqueting and catering.
