The business lunch is the lunch of a working day: between the sessions of a conference, during a meeting, with clients or partners. The main constraint is time, because everyone goes back to work afterwards.
There are several formats. The light lunch is light and quick, often standing; a buffet with stations handles larger numbers; plated service brings more order to a lunch with important guests, but needs more time and staff. The menu works if it is light, seasonal and easy to eat while talking.
What to ask
Give start and end times, number of participants, venue and the diets collected at registration. Ask how many service points the caterer plans to avoid queues and whether the price includes VAT. Formats and sample menus are in the guide to the business lunch and in the sample corporate menus.
