A micro wedding is a wedding with few guests. There is no official threshold: it usually means 30-40 people at most. The possible formats change: a dinner served at a single table, a restaurant booked exclusively, a private chef in a house or a small country house.
With few guests, caterers work differently. Many have a guaranteed minimum of guests or spend, and the price per person may rise because staff and transport are split across fewer people. On the other hand the total falls and the menu can be more refined, even with slow services such as guéridon service.
What to ask
Ask straight away whether there is a minimum number of guests, how the price changes with few guests and what services the caterer offers for a small table. You will find formats and questions in the guide to the micro wedding.
