Barman Express started mainly as an open bar service, but it also provides waiting staff at home for receptions, weddings, private parties, banquets and corporate events in the Rome area, as well as extra staff for restaurants at peak times. Its listed services include bar counter hire, open bars for weddings and companies, alcohol-free open bars and a kosher bar.

The website publishes fixed-price packages for a bartender at home: €150 per staff member (4 hours), €300 for a bartender and counter, €500 for a mini open bar of 50 cocktails. It is based in Rome and says it works throughout Italy.

Worth considering for a party at home or in the garden with a buffet, when you need one or two waiters and a bar. If your caterer does not include drinks, ask what space and power sockets the bar counter needs and who brings ice and glasses.
